Hi all!
Last Friday I had an upper endoscopy completed to investigate my swallowing issues. For those that haven't heard, for the last 7 or so years I've been having some issues with swallowing. It had gotten progressively worse over the last few months so I finally decided to do something about it.
They took 3 separate biopsies to determine the cause of the swelling. In the process of pushing past the narrow section, the scope created a 5cm tear in the muscle tissue. It is just a tear and not a perforation - thank goodness. I'm on a semi-liquid diet for the week while it heals. I hear it is a great way to loose weight. I guess that depends on how many beers, milk shakes, and ice-cream sandwiches I eat and drink. Early speculation from Dr Do, suggested that it might be a possible allergic reaction to something in my environment. The biopsies will give a better determination within a week. I'll keep you all posted.
The kids are doing AWESOME. They love hunting for Easter eggs. They even like to just look for them, knowing they are empty. The hard part is getting them to sit around the corner without peaking. They say... "no peaking" in the cutest voice. (video coming). They are talking more and more. Tyler just loves to tell us how his day went. 80% is in his twin language, but occasionally we understand a word or two. They have been getting better and better on their Strider bicycles. Sometimes Kristina will even glide a little. Time to go buy some knee pads.
We had a pretty good heat wave here over the weekend. We busted out the water toys for them to play with. Kristina just thought it was a hoot to dump a cup of water on Tyler's head. She did not like it much when Tyler returned the favor. Tyler liked to sneak up behind me and poor a glass down my leg. While the kids were playing, Amy planted her garden; as always it filled up faster than she wanted. We look forward to some fresh veggies in a month or two.
Yep... that's me, probably about 30 years ago. Kristina's face with Tyler's hair.
Uncle Scott having a blast with the kids.
Greg and Elle Itoh - good pals from School.
Kyle and Zack - Welcome to the NW!
Uncle Scooter and the kids enjoying the fire pit. mmm smores.
Tyler, ready to hit the slopes.
mmm... this egg had M&M's in it. See... it melts ON your mouth, not just IN your mouth.
